Spreading my life lessons, experiences and knowledge with people is what drives me and makes me happy. Recently I blogged about the release of the book, “The Art of Being Healthy: Real Life Accounts of Children and Mothers Healing with Chiropractic” and my contribution.
It is to my great surprise that the Eagle -Tribune has shared my contribution to this book.
In light of the opiod epidemic especially hitting the Merrimack Valley, educating families about a drug-free and natural approach to health. The book shares personal accounts from myself and other chiropractors. It digs into situations where Chiropractic care has helped people when all other methods have failed.
My particular part in the book includes a real-life account from a young female patient who suffered with migraines.
I am thrilled to see news about the book spread to the Merrimack Valley and across North America.
100% of the proceeds are being donated to the Merrimack Valley Prevention and Substance Abuse Program spearheaded by Phil Lahey.
For more information about the book or my Chiropractic services, please feel free to give me a call at 978-686-7791.
Do you have questions about chiropractic but don’t know who to ask?
This is an interview I did with Kevin Willet, founder of Friends of Kevin business networking group. He asked me the top 10 questions people have about chiropractic but are too shy to ask!
Have a listen !
Whiplash is a topic very dear to me. My Mom was in a car accident when I was in high school. She was rear-ended by a drunk driver. There was no warning – he slammed into her going 80 mph. It was the beginning of a very long 4 years of suffering from neck and back pain which evolved to sciatica (pain, numbness and tingling down her leg ). She was consulting traditional medical professionals but the pain medications never solved the problem. No one suggested a chiropractor. She decided to go after listening to a chiropractor speak at a health fair. From his talk on sciatica, she decided it was time to try a non-traditional approach. She found a chiropractor, and it was the first time she had relief from back and leg pain. It made such an impact on me that I decided that this was my destiny – to prevent other families from having to suffer needlessly like Mom.
The most common cause of whiplash is from a car accident. One of the worst impacts is when you are completely stopped and out of nowhere, are rear-ended. Even if you are wearing a seat belt, you can have a whiplash injury. The seat belt will protect you from being catapulted out of the vehicle and could save your life. It does not prevent your spine from going through the sudden whipping motion that takes place upon impact.
Children can also be impacted from whiplash. The symptoms may present differently such as irritability, difficulty sleeping, bed wetting, change in focus, fear of getting in a car, and all the symptoms an adult can have.
Common symptoms of whiplash are headaches, neck pain, numbness and tingling in the arms and legs, dizziness, visual disturbances , jaw pain, ringing in the ears(tinnitus), and back pain.
Chiropractors specialize in soft tissue injuries such as whiplash. It is ideal to be evaluated soon after the injury.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call for a complimentary consult.
If you have ever had sciatica, you can attest as to how tough it is to function when your leg is screaming at you. Many people suffer for years trying to find answers to the cause.
Sciatica means pain down the leg. It is caused from pressure on the sciatica nerve. The sciatica nerve is made up of nerve roots in the lower back. They come together in the sciatica notch located in
the center of your gluteal (butt ) muscle. Hence, why it truly is a pain in the butt! Common symptoms associated with sciatica include pain, burning, numbness, tingling, dead, weakness in the muscles of the leg. It typically is in one leg only.Causes of sciatica include subluxation or misalignment of the lumbar spine and or pelvis, herniated lumbar disc. pregnancy spinal stenosis, piriformis muscle spasm, and on rare occasions, tumor.

There are times when an MRI is necessary. Depending on your insurance will determine if I can make the appointment for you directly.

The top athletes and professionals throughout the world use chiropractic care to improve their health and overall performance. From youth, high school & college to professional, athletes put much more stress on their body which naturally creates more strain on their spine.
Athletes across all sports see an improved performance after getting adjusted by a chiropractor. A misaligned spine can not only give you back and neck pain, it can put uneven stress on your extremities such as your ankles, knees, hips, shoulders, elbows and wrists. These are all parts of your body that need to be in tip top shape when performing at the highest level.
Chiropractic has always been drug-free and 100% natural. Whether you are preparing for a marathon or want to be the best in your golf league, chiropractic plays a big role in your health care team.

The tragedy that took place Jan. 7 in Paris at the French satirical newspaperCharlie Hebdo has rocked the world. At the core is our right to freedom of speech. 12 people total were gunned down all because they were exercising their freedom of speech which this extremist group found offensive. The newspaper had received many threats over the years and in spite of those threats continued to exercise their freedom of speech. 10 were cartoonists and writers and 2 were policemen paid the ultimate price for this sacred freedom of speech.
How does this relate to all of us and what can we do personally ?
I have been doing a lot of thinking about that very question. My conclusion is that every time we don’t speak up when our gut is telling us to do so, we lose ourselves. When we are silent for fear of what someone else will think, we lose ourselves. When we think that someone else’s opinion is more valuable than our own, we lose ourselves. When we witness a wrong but are scared to rock the boat we lose ourselves. I am speaking from experience.
There was a time when I had lost my voice. As hard as that may seem now.
And when I found it, I made a promise to myself that I would learn from that and not repeat it ever again. Courage is taking action in spite of fear.
The bigger fear is losing yourself.
So I encourage you to speak up, tell the truth. There was a time when Chiropractic was illegal because it wasn’t recognized as a science. There were chiropractors who graduated and their state deemed it was illegal to practice Chiropractic and they went to jail for helping sick people get well. It is so hard to believe that now but it was only 50 years ago. They were the trailblazers that knew in their gut that what they had to offer was valuable to their patients. They were not going to be silenced. They were willing to go to jail for their profession. And some of them did. I can remember older patients telling me they were “afraid” to tell their doctors that they were also treating with a chiropractor. It was hard to grasp that as a young graduate but I heard it many times.
By losing their voice because they were afraid of what their doctor would say they were losing themselves. I encouraged them that THEY, the patient, THEY knew their body better than anyone. And that if they were doing better because of Chiropractic care it was their duty to educate their doctor. It has been empowering to see patients stand up for themselves and decide what is best for them. After all, that is what our goal is – to do what is best for the patient.
Je suis Charlie. You make a difference. Don’t ever forget that.
The book “What the most successful people do before breakfast ” by Laura Vanderkam really caught my attention. And to my surprise it was not work more hours!
Planning on making changes for the New Year?
No need to reinvent the wheel! The secret is before you can take care of any one you have to take care of you. Follow the simple recipe of 1. Prayer/ meditation 2. Exercise 3. Plan your day and creatively think 4. Spend time with loved ones.
If this recipe works for the most successful people in the world, it will also work for you if you make it your priority. Confucius said that the nature of men is always the same. It is their habits that separate them.
Start your day nourishing your body, mind and soul. No one can do that for you except for you.
And you are worth the effort!
This is music to a chiropractors ears!
” I haven’t had a headache since I started getting adjusted. I no longer have the pain down my leg. I haven’t had a cold since I started care. I am sleeping the night. I can play with my grandkids. I can play golf.”
I am reminded daily of what people go through while trying to get to the bottom of their problem. The majority of my patients have been through the gamete while trying to improve their condition. They are sick and tired of being sick and tired. They know that taking a pain pill to treat a problem is not getting to the root of the problem. Chiropractic care is a safe, drug-free, 100% natural approach to your health.
You deserve to be optimized from the inside, out. I am accepting new patients, call 978-686-7791 to set up an appointment!
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I want to bring light to the art of receiving. In order to experience giving, someone has to receive. It sounds so simple. However, it can be a challenge for a lot of people. How many times have we declined a thoughtful gesture and said “oh no, thank you” or worse put our hand up while saying this. For many people, they enjoy giving and are not comfortable receiving whether that is being treated at a restaurant by a friend, a gift, a compliment , a hand doing something. By not allowing yourself to receive , you deny someone the joy of giving. I learned this the hard way like most lessons! One of my best friends called me selfish for not allowing her to treat at lunch after I had treated the time before. Selfish? Me? I had never been called selfish. Then she explained and asked me “what makes you think I don’t want to treat once in awhile?” By refusing to let people do anything for you, you shut them out without trying.
I had always felt more comfortable in the giving side of things. And this was a wake up call that I had not mastered the art of receiving.
So I challenge all of you – to learn the art of receiving. To say thank you, I appreciate that, that was so thoughtful of you, thank you for thinking of me.
Happy Giving and Receiving!
