Car Accidents & Chiropractic Care

whiplash“It happened so fast. I was traveling along and out of no where I was rear-ended.  I had no time to react and felt my head smash in to the headrest and then I was flung forward.  Thank God for my seatbelt but I am still in a lot of neck and back pain.  My headache just won’t go away.”
( quote from one of my new patients this week ).

Whiplash occurs when a sudden, jarring movement of the head is sustained backward, forward or even to the side. Whiplash destabilizes the spine and causes severe pain as well as these other symptoms:

• Blurred vision
• Neck pain
• Headaches
• Dizziness
• Shoulder pain
• Reduced range of motion in the neck
• Arm pain
• Neck stiffness
• Low back pain

Chiropractic is a safe, drug-free approach to treating whiplash. In cases of trauma such as whiplash, I also have electrical muscle stimulation and ultrasound treatment for the initial acute phase of care.

Whether the accident was someone else’s fault or yours, it is important to have your spine evaluated. We don’t think  twice to get our car checked for structural damage so why wouldn’t we do the same for our bodies? And let’s face it – you only get 1 body!
